In a grand celebration of democracy, President Bola Tinubu is set to unveil the world’s largest painting portrait on canvas in Abuja. The unveiling, scheduled for Eagles Square, will mark the 25th anniversary of democracy in Nigeria. Speaking to Arise News, Opeyemi Alaba, coordinator of the painting project, described it as a symbol of hope for Nigerians and Africa.
The painting was created by 37 different painters representing the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. It drew inspiration from portraits of former United States President Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth II. During his recent Democracy Day speech, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that they could look forward to a better future. He announced a consensus reached between the Federal Government and organised labour on the new minimum wage agreement, which he said would improve the standard of living for Nigerian workers and ensure fair compensation for their efforts.
