Portuguese Prodigy Diogo Leite Draws Milan’s Interest for Defense Overhaul: Will the Rossoneri Be Able to Secure Him?

Milan set to strengthen defense with Bundesliga star: Here’s the scoop

Milan is searching for a solution to their defense woes by targeting Union Berlin defender Diogo Leite, who is viewed as an excellent addition to their backline. According to Sky Sport Italia, the 25-year-old Portuguese player has expressed interest in joining the Rossoneri but Union Berlin is holding out for €18m in exchange for his transfer.

Leite’s experience at Braga and Porto, combined with his age, makes him an attractive option for Milan’s defense. One of the main reasons why Milan is interested in Leite is that he is left-footed, which fills a gap in their squad. Additionally, Leite played 32 games last season and has a good injury record, which makes him an appealing prospect for the Italian club. The fact that he can play on either side of a central defensive pairing also adds flexibility to Milan’s options.

With Paulo Fonseca expected to be announced as coach soon, negotiations for players like Leite could progress quickly. Milan is looking to reinforce their defense before the upcoming season and believes that adding someone like Leite could greatly benefit their efforts in that regard.
