Pope Francis: Health Concerns Surface Despite Busy Schedule

The Pope’s Extended Silence at Palm Sunday Mass Reignites Speculation on His Health During Easter

The Pope’s health has been a topic of concern once again, following an incident during Palm Sunday celebrations where he did not deliver the homily. Despite the speculation, the Vatican did not provide an explanation for the Pope’s silence, only stating that the homily was “non-existent.” However, Francis resumed the ceremony with the Creed and later briefly condemned a terrorist attack in Moscow before greeting the faithful in St. Peter’s Square.

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera interviewed a surgeon who has operated on the Pope twice and asked about his health conditions. The surgeon responded that while Francis has respiratory problems due to past lung surgeries, he is well for his age. The Pope’s schedule remains busy with upcoming commitments and trips planned.

Francis has been dealing with respiratory problems that make it difficult for him to give speeches. Nevertheless, he continues to fulfill his responsibilities as head of state and leader of the Catholic Church while maintaining a rigorous schedule. With important events on the horizon, such as the Synod of Synods and international trips, Francis’ health will continue to be closely monitored.

Despite his demanding role and health challenges, Francis remains committed to his duties as pope. With numerous commitments and trips ahead, including visits to several countries and reopening a historic basilica, those around him will continue to prioritize his health and well-being.
