Polish Ambassador to Rome Warns of Escalating Tension in Ukraine: The Need for Europe to Strengthen its Defense Amid Russian Aggression”.

Polish diplomat in Rome warns: Weak EU emboldens Putin in Ukraine

Europe’s defense is seen as a weakness that encourages Vladimir Putin to be more aggressive, leading the European Union to increase arms supplies to Ukraine. In an interview with Adnkronos, Polish Ambassador to Rome Anna Maria Anders discussed the possibility of war between Russia and NATO countries, as well as the potential escalation in Ukraine following the recent attack in Moscow.

Anders, who has a military background, emphasized the importance of understanding Russia’s history to predict its actions. She believes that Europe must prepare for escalating tension and misinformation from Russia. To maintain peace in the region, she suggests that preparing for war is necessary, citing the Latin proverb ‘Si vis pacem, para bellum.’

The ambassador strongly believes that making concessions to Russia regarding Ukraine would only embolden Putin to take further aggressive actions. Instead, she advocates for increased arms supplies to Ukraine and counteracting Russian disinformation in the EU. Anders also emphasizes that Europe needs to strengthen its defense capabilities by investing more in defense and deter potential threats from Moscow.

Regarding sending troops to Ukraine, Anders clarified that Poland has not made any decisions on this matter. However, she highlighted the importance of supporting Ukraine’s military efforts and providing assistance where needed. In conclusion, she emphasized the necessity for Europe to stand firm against Russian aggression and take proactive measures to strengthen its defense.

Europe must understand its weaknesses and address them promptly if it wants to avoid being taken advantage of by Putin. Increasing arms supplies and counteracting Russian disinformation are crucial steps towards maintaining peace in the region and deterring potential threats from Moscow.
