Police Officer in Washington D.C. Confesses to Attempted Sexual Assault at Health Spa

On Thursday, a D.C. police officer named Pearce pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree sexual abuse of a client at a health spa in Northwest Washington. He had been charged with sexually abusing another member of the force in 2019 at the same spa where he volunteered. The incident was described by the police chief at the time as a disgrace to those in law enforcement.

The victim of the assault was also a D.C. police officer working in the 4th district station. Then’s plea deal includes probation and registration as a sex offender. If convicted after a trial, he could have faced up to five years in prison. However, his attorney called the incident a misunderstanding and stated that his client is happy to move past it.

Then, who has been with the force since 2007, is currently on an indefinite suspension while awaiting sentencing. He will appear before Judge Maribeth Raffinan on August 30 for sentencing.
