Steelers ink deal with La’Mical Perine – NBC Sports

The Steelers have added another depth to their running back group with the signing of La’Mical Perine to the 90-man roster. This move comes after the signing of Jonathan Ward earlier in the week, which has further strengthened the team’s backfield.

Perine brings a wealth of experience to Pittsburgh, having played in three regular season and three postseason games for the Chiefs last year. During the regular season, he ran 22 times for 77 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards. Although he did not receive any carries in the playoffs, Perine’s addition is expected to add depth to the team’s backfield.

Originally a fourth-round pick by the Jets in 2020, Perine ran for 263 yards and two touchdowns on 72 carries in 14 games for the team. His addition will bring valuable experience and versatility to the Steelers’ running back group, which already includes Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, and Cordarrelle Patterson.

It will be interesting to see how Perine fits into this talented group and contributes to their offensive strategy moving forward. With his experience and versatility, he is sure to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the table that could help elevate Pittsburgh’s offense this upcoming season.
