Pirates bring back Carmen Mlodzinski, assign Quinn Priester to minors.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are bringing up right-handed pitcher Carmen Mlodzinski from the minors. In order to make room for Mlodzinski on the roster, the team is sending down right-handed pitcher Quinn Priester to Triple-A. Priester’s last game was a loss against Milwaukee, where the Pirates fell 4-3.

Mlodzinski started the season on the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. During his time with Indianapolis, he posted a 6.60 ERA and struck out 13 batters in 15 innings across 13 games. Last season, Mlodzinski proved to be a valuable member of the Pirates’ bullpen, going 3-3 with a 2.25 ERA and recording one save in 35 appearances.

According to Pittsburgh Baseball Now, the 25-year-old pitcher has established himself as an important part of the team and is expected to contribute significantly this season.
