First Medical Cannabis Dispensary in North Carolina Now Open for Business

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians have opened the first medical cannabis dispensary in North Carolina. Located at 91 Bingo Loop Road in the Qualla Boundary, the Great Smoky Cannabis Dispensary was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th.

People from all over the region were lined up outside the dispensary, eager to purchase products from the Eastern Band of Indians’ packaged cannabis. The company offers a variety of products, including vape pens, pre-packaged buds, marijuana cigarettes, edibles, and gummies. All products are locally produced from marijuana grown and processed at Cooper’s Creek Farm.

Forrest Parker, the general manager of the Great Smoky Cannabis Company, highlighted the company’s commitment to improving the quality of their products. He expressed pride in offering the first legal, regulated, safe cannabis for sale within the boundaries of North Carolina, setting a high standard for quality, health, and safety.
