Pink-Doored Bar and Family Business on the Move: House Wine and Family Business Beer Co. Announce Relocations in Austin

House Wine and Family Business Beer Co. are relocating to new locations in Austin

After 16 years at its pink-doored bar, House Wine is moving to a new location. The death of the property’s landlord prompted the hunt for a new storefront. While the new location was not revealed in an Instagram post announcing the relocation from 408 Josephine St., Eater Austin reported that the bar will be moving to 1711 South First St. in Bouldin Creek by late June. The bar held a 16th-anniversary celebration on May 18, with May 27 marking its last open mic night at the current location.

Family Business Beer Co., owned by Jensen Ackles and some of his family members, including his wife and brother-in-law, is also on the hunt for a new location. The company announced the temporary closure of its Dripping Springs location on Instagram as they search for the perfect taproom location in Austin. It’s uncertain when the taproom may reopen as they are also working on establishing a state-wide presence and selling products in stores.
