Updates on Phillies’ Turner, Marte and Marchan injuries

Phillies injury updates were provided on Turner, Marte, and Marchan on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Rafael Marchan, who has experienced injuries over the last three seasons, is about two weeks into his rehab assignment. According to Manager Rob Thomson, Saturday was expected to be a “heavy day” for Marchan, including catching a lot of games and swinging the bat effectively. Depending on Marchan’s response to the work on Saturday, the next step in his recovery could involve increasing the intensity of his rehab at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Additionally, right-handed reliever Yunior Marte began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley after being sidelined since May 1 due to right shoulder inflammation. Marte has a 2.70 ERA in 12 appearances this season and the Phillies are taking their time with his recovery process to ensure he is fully healthy before returning to the team. Trea Turner, who suffered a hamstring strain 22 days ago, ran at a higher intensity at Coors Field on Saturday as part of his rehab process. According to Manager Rob Thomson, Saturday was expected to be a “heavy day” for Turner, including running, fielding grounders, and hitting in the batting cage.
