Peru’s Largest Amateur eSports Event Returns with a Prize Pool of Over 35 Thousand Soles

Join the Largest Amateur eSports Competition in Peru: Register for the ECUP Gamer Tournament

The ECUP Gamer Tournament, Peru’s largest amateur eSports event, is back for its third edition with a prize pool of over 35 thousand soles. Organized by the Technological University of Peru (UTP), this year’s tournament will feature four popular video games: DOTA 2, Efootball, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Peruvian gamers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for amazing prizes.

The tournament will kick off with a virtual phase in early July for participants from UTP campuses in Chiclayo, Huancayo, Chimbote, Piura, Ica, Arequipa, and Trujillo. Semifinals will be held in these cities, with the grand final taking place in Lima. The champion of the individual Efootball tournament will walk away with 7 thousand soles, while the winners in the other video games will receive 10 thousand soles per team.

UTP’s Director of Employability, Alejandra Rojas, expressed the university’s recognition of the potential of the gaming industry and their commitment to its growth. The ECUP Gamer Tournament provides a platform for Peruvian gamers to showcase their talents and compete in a professional setting. It also aims to promote teamwork, healthy competition, and skill development among students and the gaming community.
