Penn State had a successful weekend on the recruiting trail, with two commitments from in-state athletes. On Sunday, Braswell Thomas, from Cape May, New Jersey, announced his commitment to Penn State as a safety. Thomas is considered a three-star safety by 247Sports and On3 but Rivals rates him as a four-star receiver. At 6′-2″ and 185 pounds, Thomas chose Penn State over West Virginia after an official visit to campus.
Penn State’s Class of 2025 also includes commitments from cornerbacks Daryus Dixson, Jahmir Joseph, and Xxavier Thomas, as well as safety Antonio Branch Jr. Thomas has been a top target for Penn State since receiving an offer in March 2023. He has visited the campus multiple times for unofficial visits and football camps before his official visit this past weekend. Prior to committing to Penn State, Thomas also visited West Virginia and Nebraska.
