Patriots Rookie QB Drake Maye Predicts Boston Celtics to Win NBA Finals in Five Games over Dallas Mavericks

Drake Maye reflects on meeting Jayson Tatum and shares his NBA Finals prediction

New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye recently made his prediction for the 2024 NBA Finals, and it’s great news for local fans. Maye believes that the Boston Celtics will emerge victorious over the Dallas Mavericks in five games, with Game 5 set to take place on June 17 at TD Garden. The last time the Celtics won an NBA Finals in five games or fewer was back in 1965 when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers.

Maye had the opportunity to meet Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals and was thrilled by the experience. He expressed his admiration for Tatum and wished him luck in the Finals. Maye comes from an athletic family, and his brother Luke once played for North Carolina while Tatum was at Duke during the 2016-17 season. Despite a tough game for North Carolina, Maye has a lot of respect for Tatum as a player.

Celtics fans are excited to see their team secure four more victories to clinch another championship. The NBA Finals kick off with Game 1 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET, and Maye will be watching closely to see if his prediction comes true.
