On Thursday, the New England Patriots made a roster move by releasing receiver T.J. Luther to make room for the signing of wideout JaQaue Jackson. Luther, who was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2023, was released before the start of the season and then signed with the Patriots in October before being re-signed to the practice squad.
The team had high hopes for Luther after he had an impressive record of 55 catches for 1,055 yards and seven touchdowns at Gardner-Webb in 2022. However, despite his departure, the Patriots still have a strong group of wide receivers with a total of 12 currently on the roster. The team is expected to continue making adjustments to their roster as they prepare for training camp and the upcoming season.
As they work to solidify their lineup, it is likely that this process will be ongoing. The story was originally reported on Patriots Wire.
