Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange is currently undergoing rehab for a torn patellar tendon in his left knee. The injury occurred in December, and he had to be carted off the field. However, the severity of his injury was recently disclosed by Mike Reiss of ESPN.
Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo has expressed satisfaction with Strange’s approach to his rehab but acknowledges that the recovery process may take several more months. It appears unlikely that Strange will be ready to play in Week One of the upcoming season. Mayo can empathize with Strange’s situation, having also suffered a torn patellar tendon during his time playing for the Patriots in 2014.
Despite missing the remaining games in his second season due to a knee injury, Cole Strange had a successful rookie year as a first-round draft pick in 2022. He started all 17 games and continued to be a vital player for the team until he sustained an injury that forced him out of action for the rest of the season. Now, as he undergoes rehab, it remains uncertain when he will return to play again.
