Paris Olympics: Joystick Embiid Ready to Reign supreme after Overcoming Injury and COVID-19

Joel Embiid Provides Health Update in Rare Appearance as Sixers Star

Embiid was a guest on the broadcast for the UEFA Champions League game between Real Madrid and Dortmund during the offseason. As he continues to recover from a knee injury sustained during the 2023-2024 NBA season, Embiid shared his current health status with fans. He mentioned that he is feeling much better and is working on his recovery.

Embiid suffered a knee injury back in late January while playing against the Golden State Warriors. After undergoing surgery and taking some time to recover, he returned to the court towards the end of the regular season. Despite not being at full strength due to the surgery and Bell’s Palsy, Embiid played in five of the last seven games and all six playoff games for the 76ers.

Despite his stellar performance during the 2024 playoffs, Embiid and the Sixers were eliminated in the first round by the New York Knicks. With some rest and recovery time, Embiid is expected to be in top form when he joins other NBA stars at the Olympics next month. This will mark his first appearance on an international stage.

Embiid’s focus now is on getting back to full health, as he is determined to make a strong showing at Paris Olympics next month.
