Cycling Competition on the Roads at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Paris 2024 will host the world’s greatest road cycling events as part of its Olympic programme. The men’s and women’s road race and time trial will be held, showcasing the unpredictable nature of this thrilling sport. The men’s road race will cover a distance of 273km with 2,800m of ascent, while the women’s race will be 158km long with 1,700m of ascent. The routes will take riders through iconic Parisian landmarks such as the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower before heading out into the challenging terrain of the Chevreuse Valley.

The time trial is a solo effort where riders race against the clock over a flat 32.4km course. Both men and women will start on the Esplanade des Invalides and finish on the Pont Alexandre III, marking a historic moment as they compete on the same course and distance for the first time in Olympic history.
