Nine Pan American Teams Qualify for Paris in the World Relay World Cup: A Global Balance

Nine Pan American teams, including the United States, Canada and the Dominican Republic, have secured their spots in the upcoming Paris World Relay World Cup. Team USA was the standout performer of the weekend, with four of their teams qualifying for the Olympic Games.

The Bahamas played host to the 2024 World Relay Championship over the weekend, securing their own qualification for Paris 2024. The competition featured music, rhythm, and Caribbean traditions, with Team USA emerging as the main protagonist.

Team USA put on a stellar performance, securing qualification in the 4x100m for both women and men, as well as the 4×400 mixed relay and 4×400 for women. Canada also made significant gains, qualifying in the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m events.

The Dominican Republic secured their spot in Paris through their world champion and Olympic medalist 4x400m mixed relay team. The last Panam Sports country to secure a quota for Paris did so thanks to Marileidy Paulino leading her team to a second-place finish in the final relay.

In addition to Team USA’s dominance in this event, several other countries also qualified for Paris 2024 based on their performances at this meet. Australia qualified in both men’s and women’s 4x100m events; France earned spots in both men’s and women’s 4x168m events; Germany qualified in both men’s and women’s 68m hurdles events; Great Britain & NI earned spots in both men’s and women’s long jump events; Ireland secured places in both men’s high jump events; Italy qualified in both men’s shot put events; Jamaica earned spots in both men’s long jump events; Japan secured places
