Palm Desert Strip Mall Fire Destroys Four Businesses, Evacuates Six Residents and Injures One Deputy

Commercial structure fire in Palm Desert destroys multiple businesses

A commercial structure fire has occurred on Country Club Drive and Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert, resulting in the destruction of four businesses. The fire broke out just after 3:00 AM on a Sunday inside a 30,000 sq. ft building within a strip mall. Firefighters were able to contain the fire by around 5:00 AM, but not before it destroyed four businesses.

As a precaution, six nearby residents were evacuated while the fire raged on. Fortunately, only one Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries have been reported at this time.

Fire crews will continue their presence at the scene to carry out overhaul and salvage operations. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. Stay tuned to News Channel 3 for further updates on this developing situation.
