In response, the ICC has arranged for the team to stay at a hotel only a five-minute drive from the purpose-built stadium on Long Island in Westbury, New York. This new accommodation will significantly reduce travel time and make it easier for the players to prepare for their matches.

The Indian cricket team, also playing in New York, is staying at a hotel that is just a 10-minute drive from the stadium and has already won their first match at the venue. On the other hand, Sri Lanka struggled in their first match against South Africa due to concerns about traveling long distances to reach the stadium from their designated hotel.

Following this complaint, an anonymous source from PCB spoke to The Associated Press under condition of anonymity due to lack of authorization. According to this source, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi raised concerns about travel time and logistical issues affecting his team’s performance during international matches. The ICC took note of these concerns and relocated Pakistan’s accommodation closer to the stadium, ensuring better conditions and reducing travel stress during T20 World Cup matches.
