Outstanding Achievements: Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science Graduates Receive Millions in Scholarships

Four students from the local area graduate from the MS School for Mathematics and Science – The Oxford Eagle

In May, a graduating class of four local students from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science received their diplomas. This class of students has collectively accepted over $7.9 million out of the $32 million in scholarships offered to attend universities both in Mississippi and across the nation.

Lila Christine Jacks, who previously attended Oxford High School and is the child of Jacks Tom and Katie Jacks, will be continuing her education at Clemson University this fall. Ava Grace Noe, who previously attended Lafayette High School and is the child of Nathan Noe and Jennifer Noe, will be attending Mississippi State University in the upcoming academic year.

Max Russell Wolf Flaschka, who previously attended Oxford High School and is the child of Walter Flaschka and Shanna Flaschka, will also be continuing his education at Case Western Reserve University this fall. Ava Elizabeth Wilson, who also previously attended Oxford High School and is the child of Whitt Wilson and Amy Catherine Wilson, will also be attending Mississippi State University starting this fall.

The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science was established in 1987 on the campus of the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus. It is recognized as a nationally recognized residential high school catering to academically advanced 11th and 12th graders.
