OSHA Report Reveals Dangers of Patient Harassment for Nurses, Healthcare Workers at Northern Arizona VA Medical Center

Nurses, nursing assistants, and housekeeping staff at the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System’s Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz., are at risk of physical and sexual harassment from patients due to inadequate protection from violent behavior. This is the second time in four years that the facility has been found to have violated safety protocols.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) determined that the medical center failed to provide adequate protection to health-care workers. In response, OSHA issued the medical center a notice of unsafe working conditions and required them to demonstrate that they have taken steps to address the hazards outlined.
