Olympic Trials At Hayward Field: Nico Young Wins Men’s 10,000m; Ryan Crouser Coaches and Competes in Shot Put

Results of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials

The 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials were held at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene. During this event, the top three athletes in each category were eligible to make the Olympic team if they had met the qualifying standard or had a high enough world ranking. In addition to individual events, sprinters were also selected for the 4x100m and 4x400m relay pools. The full results can be found on the official website.

In the Men’s 10,000m event, Nico Young finished first with a time of 27:52.40, followed closely by Woody Kincaid in second place with a time of 27:53.97. Grant Fisher claimed third place with a time of 28:13.68. Other notable finishers included Drew Hunter, Casey Clinger, Conner Mantz, Sam Chelanga, and Andrew Colley.

Ryan Crouser was not only an athlete but also a coach during the event. He is an Olympic and world champion as well as a world record holder in the shot put event. His presence as both an athlete and coach was certainly inspiring to all who watched him compete at Hayward Field.
