Oklahoma Sooners’ athletic director Joe Castiglione has recently announced the contract extension of head football coach Brent Venables on Friday, June 21, 2024. This news solidifies Venables’ position as the leader of the Sooners’ football program.

In a recent ranking by EA Sports College Football 25, Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was listed as the eighth toughest place to play in college football. The stadium ranked behind notable venues such as Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium.

The SEC, which OU is set to officially join on July 1, had the most teams ranked in the top 25, followed by the Big Ten. This ranking takes into account historical statistics like home winning percentage, game attendance, team prestige, and more.

Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, also known as the “Palace on the Prairie,” has a seating capacity of 80,126 and will celebrate its 100th season in 2024. The stadium has a streak of 152 consecutive sellout games.
