Ohio State Faces Challenges in Recruiting with Assistant Athletic Director’s Departure

Erin Dunston, Ohio State football recruiting staffer, departs from program

Ohio State is currently facing a major blow in recruiting as Erin Dunston, their assistant athletic director for football recruiting and events, has decided to leave the program. Dunston had been managing the Buckeyes’ on-campus recruiting for the past three years and her departure comes at a critical time with only two more weekends left for official visits before a recruiting dead period begins on June 24.

Dunston has ties to Michigan through her family, as her sister is an assistant women’s basketball coach and former player for the Wolverines. Prior to her time at Ohio State, Dunston worked as a recruiting staffer at Kansas and Purdue, as well as a graduate assistant with LSU’s operations staff. Despite recent staff changes, Ohio State has been successful in securing commitments from top recruits for their 2025 class. They added Faheem Delane, a four-star safety from Washington D.C., and Bo Jackson, a four-star running back from Cleveland. With 14 commits, Ohio State currently holds the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation for the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
