Oakdale Elementary Students Gear Up for 26th Annual Science Olympiad

Preparations Underway for Elementary School Science Olympiad

The 26th Annual Elementary Science Olympiad is just around the corner and students from all four Oakdale Elementary schools are preparing to compete in the event. Cloverland, Fair Oaks, Magnolia, and Sierra View will all have teams participating in various science challenges. This year’s Olympiad will take place on Saturday, April 27th at Walnut School in Turlock. Over 300 elementary school children from across the county will be in attendance with events running from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. An awards ceremony will be held at 3:15 p.m. in the Walnut School outdoor amphitheater.

The event is made possible by the sponsorship of the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) and the Education Foundation of Stanislaus County. A wide range of challenges will be featured at the Olympiad including Bridge Building, Can Race, Catapult, Circuit Wizardry, Crime Busters, Deep Blue Sea, Knock Knock Who’s There, Leaf & Tree, Mystery Architecture, No Bones About It, Paddle Boat, Picture This, Rock Hound, Simple Machines
