NYU Langone Health Continues to Earn “A” Grades for Quality and Patient Safety: An Eight-Year Track Record of Excellence

NYU Langone Health Maintains Top Safety Rating on Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Since the fall of 2020, NYU Langone Health has been consistently recognized for its commitment to quality and patient safety. The hospital has received an “A” grade from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, with multiple facilities including Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion in Manhattan, NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn achieving this recognition. This marks the eighth consecutive time that these inpatient facilities have achieved the highest safety score.

Dr. Robert I. Grossman, CEO of NYU Langone Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, attributes this achievement to the exceptional work of dedicated patient care teams. According to him, safety and quality are closely linked, ensuring patients receive consistent high-quality care regardless of where they are treated. He emphasizes that their commitment to quality and patient safety is not limited to just one agency but has been validated by various organizations such as Vizient Inc., U.S. News & World Report, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns letter grades based on a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, infections, and other patient harms. NYU Langone’s consistent top quality and safety scores from various agencies further validate their commitment to providing excellent care.
