NYC Small Business Expo Promises to Boost Growth and Success, While Celebrating the Accomplishments of Local Business Improvement Districts and Receiving a Boost in Funding from Mayor Eric Adams

Business Improvement Districts Recognized for their Dedication in Supporting Small Businesses

New York City Small Business Expo, which will take place on May 29, will bring together hundreds of small businesses for a platform to showcase their products and services, network and forge new partnerships. This event aims to support the growth and success of these businesses in the competitive business landscape of New York City.

On Monday, the accomplishments of business improvement districts were celebrated through events held across the five boroughs. Commissioner Kevin Kim of the NYC Small Business Services emphasized the impact of the 75 BIDs in New York City, covering 300 miles of commercial corridors and injecting $194 million into the economy annually. The goal was to showcase the contributions of BIDs and encourage pride in their achievements.

Mayor Eric Adams also made an announcement during these outreach events, unveiling nearly $7 million in investments for small businesses. Adams believes these funds will not only boost tourism but also strengthen commercial corridors throughout the city. This financial support aims to help businesses thrive in their respective neighborhoods and contribute to the city’s economic growth.
