Nourish Your Life: BriarPatch Hosts Four-Part Eating for Health Series in June

Auburn’s BriarPatch Food Co-op to Host Four-Part Eating for Health Nutrition Series

BriarPatch Food Co-op Auburn is hosting a four-part Eating for Health series in June 2024. The sessions are free and open to all, allowing attendees to come to one or all of them. Nutrition Consultant Jacqui Meehan will delve into topics of whole food nutrition, with each session featuring a food pairing for attendees to enjoy. BriarPatch owners will also receive a $5 gift card for each session attended.

The series kicks off with Foundations of Nutrition on June 5th, providing an overview of how Eating for Health is a lifestyle focused on eating local, organic, seasonal, and unprocessed foods. The next session on June 12th will focus on Protein and Fats, teaching attendees to identify good sources of these nutrients and why they are important for a healthy diet.

On June 19th, Carbohydrates will be the focus, exploring how they are a primary fuel for our bodies. The final session on June 26th, Allergy Free Eating, will discuss common food triggers for allergies and offer options for a hypoallergenic diet.

Katee Gustavson, BriarPatch Food Co-op Community Engagement Coordinator, encourages anyone interested in making more informed food choices to attend the Eating for Health series. The sessions are free, and registration is open to all. This event is a great opportunity to learn from a nutrition expert and make positive changes to your diet.
