Notts County Bolsters Defense with Signing of Goalkeeper Alex Bass

Notts County secure the signing of goalkeeper Bass from Sunderland

Notts County is taking steps to strengthen their squad by signing goalkeeper Alex Bass from Sunderland on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old previously trained at Portsmouth’s academy and played only two cup appearances for Sunderland. He spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon in League Two, keeping 17 clean sheets in 48 games.

Notts County values Bass highly for his commanding presence and ability to handle threats that the team struggled with in the previous season. Richard Montague, who leads the club’s recruitment efforts, has been instrumental in bringing Bass to Notts County. The addition of Bass is seen as a step towards solidifying their defense and improving their performance on the pitch.

Notts County had the worst defensive record in League Two last season, conceding 86 goals, but managed to finish 14th in the table due to their attacking prowess. Bass joins defenders Jacob Bedeau and Matty Platt as Notts County’s summer signings. The club hopes that these new additions will help them improve their overall performance and challenge for promotion next season.
