Notre Dame’s Ella Trinkaus has been named the 2024 All-CNY female athlete of the year. The sophomore has already made a significant impact on Section III sports, excelling on both the basketball court and softball field. Trinkaus was recognized for her outstanding performance at the All-CNY High School Sports Awards show on Thursday.
Trinkaus began her successful year on the basketball court, leading her team with an impressive 25.4 points per game. She played a crucial role in Notre Dame’s state championship win this winter and was named the All-CNY small school girls basketball player of the year. In softball, Trinkaus continued her dominance, helping her team reach a section championship appearance. Her .90 ERA and 129 strikeouts over 85.0 innings pitched earned her a finalist spot for small school player of the year.
As she continues to grow as an athlete, Trinkaus looks poised to have an even more impressive career ahead of her. With two more years to add to her list of accomplishments and accolades, she is sure to be a standout athlete in the years to come.
