Northern Nevada Public Health Introduces Cutting-Edge Drone to Combat Mosquito Population

Northern Nevada Public Health is set to introduce a new drone designed to combat mosquitos in the region. This innovative approach to mosquito control aims to enhance public health efforts in Northern Nevada and reduce the mosquito population in the area.

The drones will specifically target areas where mosquitos are known to be prevalent, and will not be used near any residential or commercial buildings. The drone itself is rather large, measuring nine feet by nine feet, and has the capacity to carry around 100 pounds of abatement treatment that can effectively target mosquito larvae.

This new drone will work alongside existing mosquito reduction efforts and will use the same environmentally friendly granular product that is typically distributed via helicopter. The use of technology for mosquito abatement demonstrates a commitment to utilizing cutting-edge methods for the betterment of the community and the environment.

Northern Nevada Public Health’s decision to introduce this new technology is a positive step towards improving public health and reducing the impact of mosquito-borne illnesses in the region. Copyright 2024 KOLO. All rights reserved.
