Northeast Ohio’s Economic Strength Showcased on Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 Lists

Goodyear, FirstEnergy, Smucker, and RPM International Make the Fortune 500 List

The Fortune 500 list for 2024 includes several businesses from Northeast Ohio, highlighting the region’s economic strength. Among these companies are Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., based in Akron, which climbed 13 spots to spot 204 with $20 billion in revenue, and FirstEnergy Corp., also in Akron, which moved up 13 spots to spot 331 with $12.5 billion in revenue.

In the Greater Cleveland area, six companies made the Fortune 500 list. These include Progressive in Mayfield at spot 62 with $87 billion in revenue, Sherwin-Williams in Cleveland at spot 176 with $14 billion in revenue, Cleveland-Cliffs in Cleveland at spot 185 with $9 billion in revenue, Parker Hannifin in Cleveland at spot 216 with $9 billion in revenue, KeyCorp in Cleveland at spot 386 with $7.4 billion in revenue, and Avery Dennison in Mentor at spot 450 with $8.8 billion in revenue.

In addition to these companies on the Fortune 500 list, there are also two businesses based in North Canton that made it onto the Fortune 1000 list – Timken at spot 663 and Diebold Nixdorf at spot
