Northeast High School Hosts College Fair with UNL’s Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources: Building Future Opportunities for Students

Students at Lincoln Northeast High School get an inside look at UNL science programs during Fair event

Recently, Lincoln Northeast High School hosted a college fair in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Lincoln, specifically focusing on the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. During the event, students learned about various programs offered by UNL, including animal and food science, engineering, forensic science, and pre-veterinary studies.

The college fair took place on the same evening as the students’ parent-teacher conferences. Coordinators Tammera Mittelstet of the ag science college and Northeast Principal Keri Applebee noted that this timing made it more convenient for students. Applebee mentioned that holding the event during the evening of conferences allowed for a larger community of stakeholders to attend.

Both UNL and Northeast High School are excited about future partnerships to provide more students with opportunities to explore different options and plan for their future endeavors. By working together, they hope to facilitate connections and help students visualize their paths beyond high school.
