Nike x Hyperice: Innovative Footwear and Vest for Efficient Training and Recovery

Nike and Hyperice introduce new wearable technology to enhance athletes’ warm up and recovery — Retail Technology Innovation Hub

Nike and Hyperice have joined forces to create innovative footwear and a vest that incorporate wearable technology to help athletes maximize their performance during training and competitions. According to Tobie Hatfield, Senior Director of Nike Athlete Innovation, recovery is critical for athletes, but the concept of “pre-covery” is equally important. The new products are designed to prepare the body for activity, whether on the field or at work.

The Nike x Hyperice boot is a high-top shoe that offers heat and dynamic air-compression massage for the feet and ankles. It features dual-air Normatec bladders and warming elements that deliver heat evenly across the upper portion of the shoe. This combination helps to penetrate heat deep into the muscles and tissues of the foot and ankle, enabling athletes to move, perform, and recover more efficiently. Athletes can control the heat and compression of both shoes with the press of a button, choosing from three levels of compression and heat. Each shoe is powered by a battery pack in the insole, providing athletes with customizable support for their feet and ankles.

In contrast, the Nike x Hyperice vest allows athletes to regulate their body temperature using thermoelectric coolers without needing ice or liquid, enhancing performance during warm-ups and cool-downs. By leveraging technology similar to the Hyperice X line, the vest enables athletes to fine-tune their body temperatures to optimize their performance. With these innovative products, athletes can improve their performance by preparing their bodies for activity while also recovering more efficiently during training sessions or competitions.
