Saturday was a pivotal day for Rutgers football, as the second commitment from the weekend’s official visits was announced. Just hours before, defensive lineman Miron Gurman had committed to the program, making Kyle’s decision all the more significant.
Kyle is a 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior who recorded an impressive 75 total tackles and 13 sacks in just 22 games last season while playing for North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. His impressive play on the field caught the attention of several schools, including Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Marshall, Troy and UAB. However, it was Rutgers that offered him a Power Five scholarship – an opportunity he jumped at without hesitation in early March.
The news of Kyle’s commitment sent ripples through the recruiting world as he joined two other defensive linemen in Rutgers’ class. With Kyle’s commitment added to that of three-star offensive lineman Jyon Simon from Florida earlier this month, Rutgers has strengthened its roster with quality talent and depth.
