Takk McKinley signs with Jets – Yahoo Sports

The New York Jets have officially signed former first-round pick Takk McKinley, marking a new chapter in his NFL career. McKinley, who was originally selected as the 26th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 NFL Draft, had been waived by the Falcons in November 2020.

After participating in a tryout with the Jets during their mandatory minicamp earlier this week, McKinley has now officially joined the team. Despite brief stints with several other teams over the past two seasons, including the Bengals, 49ers, Raiders, Browns, and Rams, McKinley never found a long-term home until now with the Jets.

Throughout his NFL career so far, McKinley has accumulated an impressive record of 98 tackles, 20 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in just 64 games played. He has also made an impact in the postseason with two sacks in two playoff appearances. With his addition to their roster, the Jets are looking forward to tapping into McKinley’s potential and adding depth to their defense.
