The San Jose Barracuda, an AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced the hiring of James Collins as Vice President of Business Operations. In his new role, Collins will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Barracuda’s business operations, including ticket sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, communications, and fan relations.
Collins’ experience in sports management and sales expertise make him a valuable asset to the team. He has worked with NHL teams like the Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils, as well as NBA teams like the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks. He also has experience working with the AHL’s Ontario Reign.
San Jose Sharks Senior Vice President, Brian Towers, expressed excitement about Collins joining the team and praised his leadership qualities. “James is a talented sports executive with a proven track record,” he said. “We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to seeing the Barracuda grow under his leadership.”
Collins himself expressed his excitement about joining the team and being a part of the next chapter in its history at Tech CU Arena. “The growth of this franchise over the past few seasons has been impressive,” he said. “I am excited to be a part of it and provide entertainment for residents in the South Bay and beyond.”
Collins is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles and will be relocating to the Bay Area with his wife Anna and their two sons Liam and Maddox.
