New Veteran Quarterback Jeff Driskel Added to Washington Commanders’ Roster as Offseason Program Begins

Team Captains Add Quarterback Jeff Driskel

The Commanders have recently added veteran quarterback Jeff Driskel to their team. Driskel, who was a sixth-round pick in 2016, has played in 24 games with 12 starts for various teams such as the Bengals, Lions, Broncos, Texans, and Browns. Most recently, he started a game for the Browns in 2023, where he completed 13-of-26 passes for 166 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Turning 31 later this month, Driskel is now the third quarterback on Washington’s roster, joining Marcus Mariota and Jake Fromm. Despite this signing, the Commanders are still expected to select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Washington will begin their offseason program with new head coach Dan Quinn on Tuesday, as they look to continue building their team for the upcoming season. The addition of Driskel provides the team with more depth at the quarterback position and adds experience to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
