New Twists in Season 2 of The World Between Us Filming in Germany: A Love Story Turned Reality

Filming for Season 2 of “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us” Commences

Season 2 of The World Between Us, the hit show on Prime Video, has started filming in Germany. The success of the first season, set in a UK private school but filmed in Germany by UFA Fiction, led to an order for a second season soon after its debut became Amazon’s biggest ever non-U.S. original launch. It topped Prime Video charts in 120 territories and made overnight stars of leads Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten.

The show follows Ruby Bell (Herbig-Matten), a girl from a humble background who wins a scholarship to an elite college, and her relationship with the uber-privileged heir James Beaufort (Hardung). Season two begins after the pair share a night together in Oxford. Everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby, but then a twist of fate in James’ family changes everything and James himself brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality.

Fremantle’s UFA Fiction is the production house for The World Between Us, which is expected to run for three seasons in total though no third run has yet been greenlit. Amazon MGM Head of Scripted TV, Germany Petra Hengge said she was tempted to extend season 2 from six episodes to eight or ten episodes last week though no total ep was revealed today. Producers are Markus Brunnemann and Ceylan Yildirim who also acts as showrunner and head writer. Valentin Debler is also a producer while Martin Schreier (Traumfabrik) returns as director and Gabriela Reumer leads on costumes while Nina Haun casting is responsible for it all!
