New signing Ezequiel Ponce set to bring firepower to Houston Dynamo’s struggling offense

Houston Dynamo splurge on Ezequiel Ponce signing

The Houston Dynamo have announced the signing of Ezequiel Ponce from Greek side AEK Athens in a club-record deal. Ponce, an Argentine, has signed a contract that will keep him with the team through the 2027 season, indicating a long-term commitment to bolstering their attacking options.

Houston’s general manager, Pat Onstad, expressed confidence in Ponce’s abilities, stating that he was the top choice after an extensive global search for a new starting striker. Ponce’s experience in top competitions and his alignment with the team’s playing style make him a perfect fit for the Dynamo.

Despite not having any player on their roster having scored more than four goals in 17 MLS games played so far, Houston believes that Ponce will provide the firepower needed to elevate their performance in upcoming matches. With a proven goal scorer like Ponce now in their ranks, the Houston Dynamo are looking forward to a more potent attacking threat in the seasons to come. However, fans will have to wait until after the summer transfer window opens on July 18 to see him in action for the Dynamo.
