New Sidewalk Vending Business License Granted in Las Vegas: Paletas y Aguas Opens at Cactus Avenue and Dean Martin Drive

First Sidewalk Vendor Business License Issued by Clark County

On Wednesday, Jose Manuel Carrera, a Las Vegas man, and his family received the first sidewalk vending business license from Clark County Commissioners Tick Segerblom, Marilyn Kirkpatrick, and William McCurdy. The milestone came after commissioners approved street vendor regulations in unincorporated Clark County over a month ago. Paletas y Aguas, Carrera’s business, will be located in the southwest Las Vegas valley at the corner of Cactus Avenue and Dean Martin Drive. He also owns an ice cream shop in North Las Vegas called LV Michoacana.

Carrera expressed his gratitude for the smooth process of obtaining the business license as long as all requirements were met. He encouraged others to try to get a business license and wished them luck. In 2023, Nevada passed SB 92, requiring jurisdictions to establish rules for street vendors, including insurance and permits. The ordinance in Clark County was approved on April 15 and went into effect on April 30. Workshops were held to guide potential vendors through the requirements of applying for and obtaining a business license.
