New Senior Executives Appointed to Drive Growth in UBS Wealth Management’s Middle East Region

UBS boosts its wealth management team in the Middle East

The UBS Global Wealth Management Group is undergoing a transformation in order to implement a more flexible strategy. The focus of the group is on meeting the needs of their customers, as they work to modernize their regional operations and strengthen their teams in the Middle East region.

In line with these efforts, three senior executives have been appointed by the Swiss bank. Rana Al-Imam has been named head of UBS business development in Abu Dhabi, effective from early July 2024. Prior to this appointment, Al-Imam was head of private banking at HSBC in Abu Dhabi. Basil Al-Zouk, who previously served as CEO of Deutsche Bank’s global operations in Saudi Arabia, will manage local wealth accounts in the Kingdom. Tom Enyeke will work with him to drive growth in UBS’s global wealth management business in the region. Ali Khunji, who was previously Head of Wealth Management and Personal Banking at HSBC, will become the development officer for the wealth management portfolio in Bahrain and the Eastern Province.

Nils Zilkens, Head of Wealth Management in the Middle East stated “I am pleased to welcome Al-Zouk, Khunji and Al-Imam along with their respective teams. Their expertise and experience will greatly enhance our presence and capabilities in the Middle East region.” He added “We aim to accelerate our growth strategy and achieve our ambitious goals for this group.”
