New Saginaw United High School Health Center to Boost Student Health Outcomes in the Great Lakes Bay Region

New Youth Health Center now available within Saginers High School

In the fall, a new Great Lakes Bay Health Centers school-based health center will open at Saginaw United High School. The center will offer similar services to those provided at the existing centers at Saginaw High School and Arthur Hill High School, which include treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, sports physicals, and more.

The health centers are comprehensive primary care facilities staffed with a licensed social worker, nurse practitioner, nurse director, nurse manager, and other support staff. Each center aims to improve health outcomes for students by ensuring they remain healthy while at school.

Currently, the health centers at Saginaw High School and Arthur Hill High School serve around 400 students. With the opening of the new Saginaw United High School building, this number is expected to grow. Additionally, a new school-based health center is set to open at Bay City Central High School by the fall as well. Construction and implementation plans have been approved, with a groundbreaking event scheduled for mid-May.
