Joe Kippley named as Public Health Director by TenHaken in Sioux Falls

Joe Kippley, a Brookings native, has been appointed as the Public Health Director of Sioux Falls by Mayor Paul TenHaken. Kippley previously served as a Minnehaha County Commissioner for the past year and was the clinic director of cardiology at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls.

Mayor TenHaken expressed his confidence in Kippley’s leadership abilities, citing his law degree and background in healthcare as valuable assets for the role. Kippley has extensive experience working in healthcare facilities in Illinois and Mississippi before taking on various roles at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, including Imagenetics and the cardiology department.

Kippley is dedicated to making Sioux Falls a better place through his commitment to serving the community and involvement in volunteer efforts. He stated that he is honored to lead the team at the Sioux Falls Health Department and is eager to bring his passion for this city to positively impact public health. The appointment of the Public Health Director will be subject to approval by the city council, with presentations scheduled for the upcoming meeting on May 21.
