Lai highlighted the importance of ensuring that economic development benefits all citizens by expanding services such as childcare, long-term care, and social housing. He also addressed issues related to commodity prices, housing, and the wealth gap, as well as enhancing safety and security in various aspects of daily life.
Furthermore, the new government under Lai’s leadership will continue reform efforts in education, the judicial system, and transitional justice to address important social and political issues. Lai underscored the need for coordination and cooperation to tackle challenges both domestically and internationally as Taiwan’s new president.
