New Owners of Iowa Business Recognized for Renewable Energy Efforts; SCORE Workshop Set for Marketing, Sales, Networking Training in Cedar Rapids.

Hawkeye Molding of Story County has been named small business of the week by U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa. Ryan Gruhn and Lana Leander acquired this plastic injection manufacturing company in 2021 and relocated it to Roland, Iowa, where they have been recognized with the Renew Rural Iowa Entrepreneur Award by the Iowa Farm Bureau.

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, recently broke ground for a 6.5-acre solar farm at its electric power systems facility in Rockford, Illinois. This new solar farm, to be owned and operated by ENGIE North America, will provide approximately 10 percent of the Rockford facility’s electrical needs annually. Additionally, RTX has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 46 percent from 2019 levels.

SCORE is offering a free workshop on May 14 for business owners in Cedar Rapids Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. This workshop will provide training in marketing, sales, and networking and will take place at the Cedar Rapids Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m..
