New Orleans Native Roderic Teamer Signs with Saints after Rejoining League Amid DUI Arrest: From Substance Abuse Struggles to Football Success

Saints to add Roderic Teamer to their roster

New Orleans native Roderic Teamer has been signed by the Saints on a one-year deal after participating in a minicamp on a tryout basis. Teamer, 27, was previously with the Raiders but was cut after being arrested for DUI in November last season. Despite his previous struggles with substance abuse, he entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted free agent with the Chargers and played seven games with six starts as a rookie before being waived due to another violation.

In 2021, Teamer signed with the Colts in the offseason and then joined the Raiders in June of that year. He played in 10 games and appeared in all 17 games for Las Vegas in 2022, primarily on special teams. However, he may still face discipline from the league for his DUI arrest that occurred last November. Despite this setback, Teamer is determined to turn his life around and prove himself as a valuable asset to the Saints’ defense.
