New No. 1 Overall Player and Second Baseman Rankings for June: Who to Watch in the Rest of Season

Rankings of Second Basemen for June – Yahoo Sports

The June edition of my rest-of-season position rankings and overall top 300 for 5×5 leagues is now available. I apologize for the delay in publishing, as I had to determine a new No. 1 overall player. Despite many top pitchers being injured, there are only about 120 players in the majors capable of hitting.

In this month’s Second Baseman ROS Rankings, several players have fallen off the list such as Thomas Saggese (57th), Cavan Biggio (59th), and Enrique Hernández (60th). The Twins’ decision to send Edouard Julien down to make room for Royce Lewis was a wise move in my opinion. Although this may change if he doesn’t return soon, giving him some rest and regular at-bats in low-pressure situations could be beneficial for his development. Since Apr. 28, Julien has struggled with 36 strikeouts and only one extra-base hit in 95 plate appearances. However, there is potential for him to offer mixed-league value once he returns.

The Marlins chose to send Xavier Edwards down last week instead of activating him after a two-month IL stint due to a foot infection. I hope they won’t wait much longer to give him a chance at either second or short base. Edwards may not be Luis Arraez, but he is a similar hitter and a legitimate stolen base threat. While it may be challenging to generate fantasy value hitting in a struggling Miami lineup, Edwards will certainly be an intriguing player to watch.
