The Catawba Science Center is excited to announce the launch of its new permanent exhibit, “Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond,” on July 10. Located in the Hall of Astronomy, just outside the Millholland Planetarium, this exhibit offers visitors an immersive experience into the wonders of space and beyond.
One of the main attractions of the exhibit is a Mars pod that allows guests to get a feel for what it would be like to live on the red planet. This interactive feature is sure to be a hit with visitors of all ages. Additionally, there will be a new planetarium show called “Destination Mars,” narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison. This show promises to take visitors on an exciting journey through space, highlighting the latest discoveries and innovations in space exploration.

The Catawba Science Center is located on the SALT Block at 243 3rd Avenue N.E. in Hickory.
